BG David Krumwiede

 


Brigadier General David Krumwiede is the Commander of the Highlands Brigade, headquartered in Fountain Inn, SC.

He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the Citadel and an MA in Political Science from the University of South Carolina. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in May of 1993 after serving 28 years.

Noteworthy assignments include:
Special Intelligence Analyst for satellite imagery at the Defense Intelligence
  Agency
Member of the Strom Thurmond 360th Civil Affairs BDE for 16 years
Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G-2)120th ARCOM
Assistant G-5, (USAR) XVIII ABN Corps
IMA to the Civil Affairs/Psyops Proponentcy Office, JFK Special Warfare Center,
  Ft. Bragg, N.C.

He graduated from the Infantry Officers Basic Course (IOBC); Intelligence Officers Advance Course; The Civil Affairs Officer Advance Course; Command and General Staff College; The Foreign Service Institute-Mideast Affairs; and the Army War College - Defense Strategy Course.

His awards include the Army Meritorious Service Medal, 1 OLC; Army Commendation Medal, 1 OLC; Army Achievement Medal, 2 OLC; the SCSG Distinguished Service Medal; the SCSG Medal of Merit, 1 OLC; and the SCSG Commendation Medal. He was recently the City Manager of Abbeville, SC, where he has served for the past 23 years. In 1999, he was inducted into the Abbeville County Hall of Fame.
